While the camps offer a variety of courses, students can take “Careers in Engineering” to learn more about the variety of engineering opportunities that await them. UF’s Blueprint Summer Programs have two one-week camps and two two-week camps. UCF offers two sessions of its Camp Connect, a weeklong day camp exposing students to engineering through hands-on activities, presentations, and campus lab tours. It’s an interactive program exposing high-school students to life as an engineering major. Florida Institute of TechnologyįIT’s Engineering Camp offers two weeklong sessions in July. The FGCU/Sigma Pi Phi Epsilon Nu Boulé STEM Academy runs for 12 days in June, and aims to expose students to opportunities in STEM careers and improve their math scores. Courses covered the fundamentals of engineering, introduction to civil engineering, and exploring electrical engineering, among other topics. In 2017, the SET program offered 13 courses in three weekly sessions. Florida Atlantic UniversityįAU’s College of Engineering & Computer Science hosts a Summer Engineering Technology Program for students entering seventh through ninth grades. The center has a mix of science and technology activities schedule for 2018. The college’s Challenger Learning Center runs one-day and weeklong summer camps for students entering first through eighth grades. Army Educational Outreach Program, the college offers several day camps focusing on STEM activities. The FAMU-FSU College of Engineering provides several STEM opportunities for school-age students during the summer. Programs include computer engineering, cybersecurity engineering, physics and astronomy, and GEMS (Girls Excelling in Math and Science). Embry-Riddle Aeronautical UniversityĮmbry-Riddle offers a number of summer camps for those interested in engineering. Watch the various websites for updated information as summer nears. Some camps have early application deadlines. Check out the links for more information on requirements, locations, times, fees, deadlines, and registration. It’s barely spring break, but for elementary, middle- and high-school students, it’s time to start planning for summer camps.įlorida universities and their colleges of engineering are offering a variety of camps and programs geared toward students interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, or STEM.įollowing is a quick overview of some of the camps.
